WRX wiring questions
I bought my '03 WRX used, with 15,000 miles on it. I've found a lot of things wrong with it, all related to what looks like a rushed and careless removal of custom audio equipment. Of concern are these:
1. passenger foot area has a large wire box (under the carpet)whose shield I found unattached. What is this wire box for? Obviously the previous owner was messing around with it, was their tinkering related to the audio system, or did they seriously toy around with vital components?
2. I found a small after-market wire running from the stereo fuse (in the fusebox near driver left knee) to a wire in the driver-side lower door frame. It looks like the door frame wires go to the left rear door window, lock, and speakers. Any ideas why someone would run a wire from the stereo fuse to the wire bundle running to the left rear door?
3. Under the steering column and above the control pedals are four wire adapter modules that are just haning. Two of the four adapters are green and fit together, one adapter is black, and one adapter is white. Any ideas what they're for, and if they need to be re-connected to anything? Attached is a photo of the area above the clutch pedal.
Thanks!

Yeah. The computer under the passenger footwell is your, ummm, ECU. If you dont know what you're doing, DON'T TOUCH IT. You can **** up some serious stuff. As for the black and white pin connectors under the dash, I dont know. The green ones came unattached in mine too. After I was installing some stuff I plugged them together (I wasn't sure if I had pulled them apart). The result was a car that wouldn't start, and a CEL. Don't know what they are for though.
