wrx prices...
I am in the process of selling my type R, and went to the dealers today to check out the wrx. The sticker price for a plain stripped down wrx with only a turbo guage was priced at 25,017. Then the guy said if I wanted to add the short shifter package it would be another $800.00. Then he said taxes and fees would be around $3,000. So my total price for a basic stripped down wrx with only the turbo guage and a short shifter would cost me about $28,800. Does this sound about right?

Here in hawaii, you get a WRX for sticker plus doc fees and registration fees. Basically about 24-25k out the door.
If you're getting raped for "adjusted market value" that sucks. DYK it's cheaper to get a G35 coupe here than a Z car because the infiniti dealer doesn't markup their goods...

thats what I was hearing. I thought normal price ranges were around 24-25k out the door including all the fees. I don't really need all the extras like the system and etc, but for a stripped down wrx with just a turbo guage for 25k seems a bit high. I'll try to see what another dealership says..
can anyone in the bayarea list where they purchased their wrx at, and how much they are getting it for out the door?

where did you go to check? Stevens Creek? DON'T GO THERE!! Santa Cruz Subaru has free oil change for the first 60k/5yr. Free one day rental and 10 percent off! Good luck!

I live in the bay area as well and test drove a WRX from the Subaru dealer on Steven Creek Auto Row. I didn't get a quote, but he said it would be around 25K.
One option I'm looking at is to order it though Easy Street Motor Sports in S. Cal. They're a mod shop, but I talked to Ali the owner there and he now works with Subaru direct and can get one delivered to his door (Van Nuys CA.) for just over $23K, I kid you not!
They have this mod package for $7200, tuned an installed that will make a stock WRX have 344HP! So doing the math...
$24K + $7,200 = $31,200 for a brand new WRX that does 12 second quarter miles and 0-60 in under 4 seconds!
Anyway, that' the plan for me. If you want to check them out Ali is the owner and is featured in this Month's Turbo Mag. For their credit easy street mortor sports has built the fastest WRX in the world at 740 HP and 10.5 qtr mile @140 MPH. So they know what they're doing. I talked to him both on the phone and via email this week. Nice guy.

Hmm...I would have been interested in the car, I like all the mods done to it. But I was looking at the white wrx, but color doesnt really matter if I find a good deal, and was aiming at a little less milelage. Good deal though, but 50,000 miles seems a bit much.
