Who bought your Subby ? Who pays for its mods ?
A then B. But what do you expect...i'm 17. Atleast i pay for the mods. Yes...yes.. I'm spoiled, But shi* if you won a car on a game show you would take it. I was born into a family with money and i was LUCKY enough to get a free car. But i'm kinda wasted so who knows what i'm even talkin about anymore....

I'm 18, I payed for most of the car (some parental assistance). I pay for all the mods with my job. I work 40 hours a week to make my car fun. That will end of course at the end of the summer when I leave for college. The poor car will be put on hold, sadly.

A, I was fortunate enough to be born into a family (as an only child) with the income to help me through life and fortuante enough to be born into an extended family that likes to share the wealth. I do, on a regular basis, share what I can with others and their families so if taking a car my parents are happy to give me because they can makes me a bad person then that is the unfortunate reality I must endure I suppose.
B, I pay for my own mods with 55-60 hrs a week of work, two jobs, previously I have had three or four.
Patience, learning to save money, yet spend wisely and in a manner that makes life fun, sharing the wealth and opportunity you have, and maintaining humility are some of the most important aspects of life to keep in mind.
If you can do all of these things, despite what you answer for each question, then what difference does it really make?

i am a single mom with a four year old little girl so living with my parents makes the most financial sense. my mom thinks that i've finally come to my senses and bought a car that i couldn't modify. she hated my civic for being lowered and loud. the mods on the scooby has to be unnoticed and quiet, like lowering it. i have to convince her that the mods i do are "good" for the car, like my $300 gauges. i have to be able to read boost i tell her. i want to do an exhaust but she'll probably kick me out of the house. a new chargespeed body kit is out of the question but wheels aren't. i also work at a shop so modding is definately a must.

I bought it myself, nuff said.
However, I have noticed an almost apologetic tone to most of the repsonses from those who had their parents buy them their car. There are also a couple of folks who pretty much think it's ok to mooch of someone else... If your family has enough mulah to buy you a car, more power to you, as long as your not some lounging lazy slacker. It just bothers me that some people think it's ok to mooch of of others because "their my parents, that's their job".
Not that I really see that here, just hints of it... I'm a little off subject here, but anyway.... I see many younger people walking around demanding high paying jobs with no experience, just because they graduated college... I see many young people thinking they "deserve" more than they have just because...
I'm not old, just 32 yrs old, so it's not one of those "when I was your age" things. I happened to interview a young woman who said she would take the position if we offered her more money...Which would be ok, IF we offered her the job. I explained that she was not right for the position, but would be willing to hire her for a starting position, with less pay to match her no life/work experience. She said she could do better and left.... I've had 3 out of 10 interviews go like that....
It just stuck in my mind and then I saw this poll....
Oh, and all the positions are filled right now, lol....

Like I said over on nasioc, parents often buy cars for their kids out of Neccesity not just out of the fact the kid wants a damn car. Thats why my parents bought me a car. If you dont like it, go find another club to be a jerk about it.

My parents are the same way. Why spend more money on a perfectly good car? Oh, well. Some people just don't get the bug like we do.
Kostamojen,
If you don't like people expressing their opinions, then you're living in the wrong country, bud. Why are you so defensive? If you don't like the thread, then don't post.

Then why did you post?
I feel defensive because I'm being personally attacked. If we are free to express our own opinions, then why shouldnt I?
Oh, and by the way, internet forums are privatly owned, privatly controled entities. Our freedom is controled only by its owners, not by whatever country we happen to live in. That is, if you did happen to notice the little "agreement" you had to accept in order to join...

I must , howevr , ask that the thread starter add one more choice to the mod section:
"E"...I buy all my mods myself but must grovel for forgiveness and swear to god, Budda and all the deities under the sun that "That is it! I won't get anything else! Please don't divorce me , I might loose the car!!!"
BTW , as for getting their kids a car out of necessity I must agree with that. I got my young man a car too , an 84 monte carlo to begin with and now an 89 Integra, but I'll be damned if I get him a WRX! If that little squirt wants a car like mine he can flip burgers at IN & OUT!
To all married men who agree with my addition to the choices remember, "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission!"
