Don't Undestand
I'm trying to imagine what my father would have answered, had I asked him this question when I was a kid. Did Grandma buy our new car? What an insult that would have been. Raised in the depression. Veteran of WWII. Put himself through CAL and Stanford. Busted his *** so we could have a "station-wagon" to take vacations in. I think that generations legacy was, " work hard, and buy what you can afford". I don't know, I had it alot easier. Very spoiled, compared to my parents. One thing they did impart to me. "Don't ask for a hand-out. If you want something, save up and buy it. Show some GD self-respect". May they R.IP. Sincerely, Collins P.S. I bought my own car.
B and B.
