also look at the fenders.... this is the real deal, test car, dressing up the sti with a wider track just for a show, is expensive as well, also ntoed is the exhaust.... i assure you the fenders are NOT the l'aunsport extensions =-)

nevertheless its beautiful, and i believe its the same one taht was at the LA autoshow in january

The biggest thing IMO that shows the car is the real deal is the amazing roll cage inside the car. That isn't your run of the mill roll cage. To put that in it takes almost 600 man hours according to Prodrive. As far as the difference in rear wing that was some what of a last minute change on the part of the team this year. I think they found the segmented wing in those rally pictures gave better more even handling or something to that effect (check out swrt.com for the details). And for the shipping it was an auto show so they probably were bringing over a lot of cars so its mot much more to just bring along another car.

i spent some time at the SanFrancisco auto show this year I asked one of the Subaru people there about the car. It went something like this:

me: so is that a real WRC car or just a mock up?
her: oh yeah, it's a real car and they really tricked it out
me: uhhhh
her: yeah, it's got NOS!
me: well, thanks for your time.

At the risk of absolutely killing my server, here are the 32 pictures I took of the "car show" WRC car. Please be kind, the server only has a 128k uplink.

There's a lot of pictures of the suspension and the wheel flares as it's something I'd like to duplicate on my STi.... we'll see.

The WRC car at the denver auto show was fake. If you looked under the hood you could see all sorts of parts that are not there in the Real WRC car. Also, the bumper and other parts were not Carbon fiber but were in fact fiberglass.

The front lip is no longer CF, it is fiberglass. That was a rule change by FIA to help keep costs down.

I thought they did that because it was safer and the fiberglass held up better to the punishment.

No way man, CF is hard to damage, because it's hard to damage.
