What do i need to know?
Im new here im from the DSM camp and love the car, but i have a great respect for the scoobies. im in the market for a new car preferably a reliable one with awd that i could do some work on in the future, so i instantly thought impreza and i think i want a 2.5 rs and just wondering what the best years are? and just basically im wondering what the important things are to know? maybe some good info packed site's? thank you very much for any info you can give me. I just(?) got a 98 2.5 RS last July and so far I absolutley love it!
Less hp than WRX's and not turbo.... don't know if it's the ideal model to be performing mods on (seems like other models are more prevailant), but I'm not really into that. But it's been a wonderful and fun car so far!!

BTW, this is coming from a 17yr old....
MY98 DOHC 162 lb ft tq (i think..) 165hp
MY99-MY01 SOHC 166lb ft tq, 165hp
MY00-MY01 rear viscious coupling LSD (ony these model years have it)
MY98 has no large fog lights compared to MY99-MY01.
9.7:1 Compresstion ratio for MY98-MY99
10.0:1 Compression ratio for MY00-MY01
MY00 or MY01 had standard Carbon interior finish.
6-spoke silver wheel for MY00-MY01
5-spoke silver wheel for MY99
5-spoke GOLD wheel on MY98
MY00-MY01 had sedans, MY98-MY99 are only avaliable as coupes.
THE HOODSCOOP IS NOT FUNCTIONAL NOR IS THERE A SUPERCHARGER UNDER THERE. ...sorry....
I'll think of some more....anyone else wanna add...

that sounds good do far.
how interchangeable are all the parts like say i wanted to throw in the rear lsd on a diff model or something? are the dohc easier to modify than the sohc (better flow?) and i do eventually want to squeeze a little more power on it but it will need to stay reliable so instantly i thought jdm turbo motor (EJ20?) but i have not done any research or anything but i figured it might be real easy, hopfully not to much cash required
do they feel real peppy? im sure they have to be well balanced (fun in snow n dirt) right? good neutral handling? yeah well thats a page full agin thanks alot
