Turbo sounds
We all love turbocharged cars, or else we wouldn't be here. Now, how can I let people know that my car has a turbo? I know the blow off vlave will give that 'pshh' with a lift of the throttle. Can anybody give advice to which of these has the coolest sound? Now, whats the difference between this and the bypass valve? Also, I've heard that a short ram intake will help to hear that turbo spool up. Any thoughts?
how about some neon lights, 3' carbon fiber wing, carbon fiber hood with fake hood pins, a giant windsheild sticker that reads "turbo", some autozone racing seat covers oh and that new autozone muffler tip with LED lights. That should get the point across. J/k.. hehe
I personaly thought the "WRX" badge on the back of the car was enough, but who knows... hehe

Blow off sound generator
whats the difference between (BOV) and the bypass valve?
BOV vents some or all of the pressure to atmosphere. Compressor bypass valve vents it back into intake system, avoiding mixture and rough running problems.

I still use an unmodified factory intake. I don't want to put anything on the car that might cause mis-reading of the MAF sensor. I don't know if a short ram will cause a problem or not.

Have u done the silencer mod?
I read many post about this mod. Some remove the ram air piece that leads air into the fender and also remove the silencer and then plug the hole in the fender wall with a rub plug that u can get from subaru. Then they rely on cold air coming in from fender only. I read one post where a guy drilled holes into the bottom of his silencer and left it inside the fender along with the ram air piece so he gets air from the grill and a lil air from the fender.
What i did was hack saw the silencer just below the elbow where the air goes fromt he ram air to the filter box. There is a large opening so that air now comes in from the grill and also air from the fender. For a little time less than a hour, you can get a nice swishhhhhhh sound when u start driving especially at loweer rpms. You can hear the air get sucked into the car. It took a few min to get used to it but i luv it now. I dont have a bov on my car just the modified intake. MY next step is to get a lil more sound from an aftermarket exhaust like turbo xs or scoobys port.
I am agreement with the rest. The wrx badge should let everyone know u got a turbo. If they have a clue what the car is about. I would say the hood scoop would be a give away but so many naturally aspirated subies have a hood scoop that it took away some of the nastalgia but hey the car is turbo and it kicks some *** even if its not a STi. I luv my car.
