"LOL, you guys are great. I made an account just to reply to this. I can not believe how disgruntled you are letting yourselves get because of something so trivial.

You are really going to lose sleep over this one. I am 18. I have an STi. I pay a mortgage. I currently have a base salary of $90,000 USD a year. I have been working at this company for just under a year. I did not know anyone at this company before I started. I did not have friends or relatives that helped me get this position. I have no degrees. It was brought to my attention after I was hired, there was alot of interest in the position, and other applicants held various degrees ranging from BSc to Masters in related fields. I love my STi. I race my STi in various events. I have only engaged in performance driving for a few months now. I do not get times as good as some of the veterans. I get better times than alot of people. I have fun. Do you have fun? Do you have less fun knowing that some punk kid is enjoying the same toy you are? You shouldnt.

Some people struggle with this all of their lives. Please listen. Money (or cars bought with that money) is not a sufficient metric to quantify the value of a human being. You will be bitter and pessimistic until you realize this.

The comments a few of you are making are demonstrating a superiority complex in that you do not feel adequate if at this stage in your life in terms of how you are measuring up to someone half your age. Until you find a better metric than money and posessions, you will continue to struggle. Please, old farts, do grow up

Instead of arguing on car forums, why dont you go take your kids to the zoo, or teach them how to make popsicle stick houses. If you dont have kids, treat the wife to dinner somewhere nice. All of these things will be alot more rewarding. Do not think for a second that this car, or anything to do with it, is worth anything compared to your loved ones. Enjoy it for what it is, and stop feeling threatened by anyone else that wants to enjoy it for what it is."

I'm not trying to start fights or anything. But it's funny when the a-typical example of the topic shows up and posts you're standard stereotypical response. Comon, you think we were born yesterday? It takes money to make money.

I definately agree this tread needs to die but a10ha10ha7's post really hit me in the wrong way...
I am young, I have grown up in a upper middle class neighborhood and I know I have had a very privlaged childhood compared to many other people. You obviously show no respect for anyone but the unbelivably rich. "They have **** on a silver plate?" My ***. You think you have problems you need to get out of the house more or hell even watch some TV. My @$$ you are not spoiled. You had a RX7 in your driveway when you were less than 16 and you are not spoiled? You totaled your grandfathers and mom's cars and your parents still let you drive at all? I'm sorry but you do not deserve to be driving such nice cars and I am not saying I do either. I dont think I am any more privlaged to drive a car such as a Supra or a FD7 because I work for my money than you are. Yes I work, and yes i am buying my own car. No, i will not be driving a Supra, a RX7, a WRX, a STi, or an EVO. Hell, I dont know what I will be buying.

I agree that earning the car yourself makes you treat it better and be smarter but I do not think that the fact that somebody bought it themselves means that they deserve it more. I do NOT deserve a STi. Yes, with a few more years work I will have enough to buy one but I will not. I plan to save the money for later in life when I may need it more.

Hopefully sometime I will own a STi, but I will only buy one when I feel my drving skill is at a high enough level to rightfully own one. I plan to road race my car and auto-x it as much as posible to work on my drving skill. I realize I am not as good of driver as most people on the road just for the reason I dont have the experiance. ANybody who attends/has attended a high school has seen the affects of people taking it too far, and sadly many kids dont realize this. I have seen friends of mine devastated when one of their other friends were killed in a car wreck and I do not want to do this to them, my family, or me. Yeah, I know sometimes I have/will do stupid things but thats part of being young as I am.

I am a member of this club because I am a car nut and have been a huge one since I was very young. I like to work on cars and drive them. I am also a member of many other online car forums just so I can learn more. On these very fourms are some of the most knowledgable (spelling?) people around and it is awesome to be able to be on for say 30 minnutes and learn so much. Its subjects like these that screw with the formula and force egos and ideas come out that wouldn't normally.

Yes there are always exeptions to the rule, I am sure there are people who are 16-21 who are better drivers than most the other people on here so do not reply saying that i am wrong, they are great drivers and i cant steriotype.
let this post die never to be seen again...
and a10ha10ha7... untill you let your ego go down, please do not post here again because this is a fourm for Subaru people, not people who think they are the best and dont think they can learn anything. You will never know everything and untill you cut back your ego, you wont learn more.
Sorry for the long post with bad grammer and spelling
Cheers

im 19 and my mom is getting me a wrx(not STi), totally normal cause im from a traditional asian family. im not shame to say i live with my parents and ill probaly live with them for the rest of my life. that doesnt mean ill be living off them but it just means were gonna be in the same household. there is nothing wrong with parents buying their kids an STi as long as they are humble, they study hard, and are respectful to their parents. to all the people who brag about buying their own car, paying their own rent, using their own money for everything, you guys are most likely to send your parents to nursing homes when they get old. when you turn 50 and your parents turn 75, youll say "they never helped me when i was young!!!" Blah, blah blah.

PS: dont get offended by my post, im just saying what i think.
