In the snow belt, every snowstorm is revenge on ignorant SUV drivers as they put the tank in 4 wheel drive and try to drive 75 on the interstate in the belief that 4x4 means "slide no more". Once a ton and a half of fat breaks traction at 70, there is no getting it back. Fortunately, most people just slide into the ditch, unfortunately, many slide into the other lane.

Passing me on the Right, (A pet peeve of mine), was a pickup truck with a huge King Sized Mattress in most of the truck bed... The part that was in the Truck Bed was barely tied down and the part that was over the Cab of the truck was being held by both the driver and the passenger... Remember I’m already going 70mph and there passing me... So I slow down a bit because it already looks like a bad situation and there signaling they want in my lane. Not more than 2 seconds after I start to merge back to the right lane, the mattress goes flying over my car, I mean this thing is bigger than me and it just misses me entirely... As I look into my rearview mirror, I see the car that was behind me launch over the thing like it was a jump fallowed by a jeep after that... Luckily the only thing that got hurt/damaged was the Mattress from what I could see, but that wasn’t going to stop these idiots from continuing down the road with the mattress again... Yes I saw them start to put it back on the truck again...
Oh yeah, before I forget, what is it with you guys in Georgia always carrying mattress on top of your vehicles? They make delivery services for that purpose... The dude in the truck was only one of 13 that we counted on our journey thru the Mattress supper Highway... And every trip since I’ve counted at least 5 or 6 on top of cars/trucks each time... No offence, just clear this up for me... ; p
