Front bumper corner spoilers, rear trunk spoiler, STi side ground effects
High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights
17-inch BBS aluminum-alloy wheels with 225/45 R17 summer radials
If they're Bridgestones, I imagine they're S-03s.

the ADVAN tires on the EVO are great but bridgestones are not junk at all, they make some of the best tires you can buy, besides, the EVO comes with the ADVANs like the STI comes with RECAROS, they are just standard on the car, its just one of the things that makes the EVO an EVO, great stock tires..... but bridgestons are not junk at all
Believe me....the STIs tires are not bad at all. They come with Potenza RE070. I've driven S-03s, Toyo T1-s, and several other ultra high performance tires and in dry conditions they are just as good. But they should be.......they only have a 140 treadwear rating.

In regards to the EVO's motor lasting, the 4G63 has been around for a while and Mitsu knows what it can take. These cars are so close in performance that it's going to be a matter or preference. Mitsu guys will want the EVO while we will want the STI. Mmmmmmm, STI.

the EVO VIII's engine's compression ratio is lower, that's why it runs more boost. It is a relative thing... but having more boost makes the engine more manic. It doesn't mean the reliability is any less, just that the turbo hits HARDER.[Quote]
Because the EVO has less compression it takes more boost to make power. Also means the lag is going to be more noticable. The Lag in the STI is almost non existant compared to the EVO.
The evo has less room to grow on the stock internals as the STI will have. More parts in the sti are forged. Where as some of the evo (connecting rods and such) are cast iron and would have to be replaced.
The front LSD's have nothing to do with why the car slightly understeers. The understeer was probably dialed in through the swaybar or the links. Would be pretty easy to get rid of I imagine. But what people don't really realize is that the car doesnt really understeer as bad as what some would want you to believe. Definately not "like mad"

While the LSD's are cool on the STi and are great for putting the power to the ground out of the corner, i've read that it can make the car understeer like mad mid corner. If you lift off, it starts to push, get back on the power, and it will come around. I think the EVO VIII is more pointy, you have to work the STi a little more, and in a different way to get the same result.
