Car Info: 2005 Impreza WRX STi
no no no no no..... the proper definition of a sports car is a 2 seat, RWD, open roadster.....the STi & EVO are not sports car .....they are catagorize as rally cars(or sub-compact rockets, etc...)....HARDCORE rally car for the street...they could spank a turn on pave or unpave road....fun shouldn't be just limited to pavement!

Not to sound like a broken record, but times change and cars need to change. As for being slower, check out the new MT, the Evo IX got faster and surprise, surprise, this year's comparo's been closer than it's ever been. All things equal, the extra 88 lbs. won't be noticed by your average driver and almost all that weight has been used to make a safer, more aerodynamic car.

i love my 05, althou it is kinda sad taht they upped it to a 2.5 in the 06 but o well **** happens. Maybe i'll go to a EVO next i think the evo looks much meaner on the outside but in the cabin the STi dominates the evo hands down.

The EVO is a great car.....there's only one problem with that car....It's not a SUBARU

The STi was changed for the US market. Reporters kept making the mistake. Front end is due to Subarus designer migrating from Alfa. The Integrale was an excellent car.

As to the ultimate Subaru ever.... P1 was a two door (type R body) shoved on a JDM STi 4 door and tweaked by Peter somebody(Williams?) and Prodrive, to try and combat UK buyers (like me) from importing the Ultimate (Stock) Impreza's (from Japan). Ever driven a ST201 or 202 or the 22B? Yes I know a few were "official" UK cars. Incidentally, and despite all the ridiculous claims, 22B's were 280bhp. And a mate who had one was always just that mosquito’s whisker of the pace of my STi Ver V Type R. The 22b was also based on the STi Version 4 Type R or maybe RA. The UK press always seemed to be falling over each other or Subaru to state that certain UK specials (P1, 22B) were better/faster/more UK road tuned than the JDM's. Also, useless piece of info. Subaru actually released some JDM's through the UK dealers think they were WRX's at 240 or 260bhp (maybe wrong), they called them 1.8GL's !!! Any way, I loved my Type R when I was in the UK, I am now (permanently) in Texas and 2006 STI is what I could get over here, so that’s what I have. It is definitely on a Texan diet (overweight) LOL. But I am hoping a Cob stg 1 then 2 with some suspension mods and geometry changes can help alleviate this.........
