Squeaky noise?!?!? Please help!!

Squeaky noise?!?!? Please help!!

Hey Guys,

So i own a 1999 Subaru Impreza RX Wagon, its my first car and i have noticed a squeaking noise which seems to becoming from the front of the car. When i push the break in the tiniest bit the noise stops. Does anyone know whatthis could be? And can i fix it myself?!?!

The brake pads may have wear indicators (not sure if they do or not). These are metal tabs on the pads that will make contact with the rotor when the pad is worn to minimum thickness and needs replacing, the result is a high-pitched noise that goes away when you step on the brakes. So take a look at your pads.
