Spare tire and FWD fuse?? Please help.

I have a flat tire and I put the spare tire on. My car is a manual WRX 2002. I read the manual and it is very hard to figure out. But it appears that I might need to insert a fuse in the fuse boox to dissable the all wheel drive system and enable just front wheel drive FWD.

Has anybody done this? How do you do it? What size fuse do you use? Do I need to do it with a manual or only with an automatic? My car is a turbo.

PLEASE HELP ME....

Are you positive?

So I can drive my car with a spare on the rear and not worry about it?

FWD fuse trick only works on the automatics because they use electronically controlled center diff.

On the manual trans, it uses mechanical center diff -- there is no way to turn this off with just a fuse.(It involves more stuffs such as disconnecting the center diff)

I recall reading from the manual that if you use spare tire, don't drive it TOO long at TOO high speed, or your diffs will be fried, but should be ok for a short distance. Get your tire fixed asap!!
