its not wrong, but think about all the civics out there with Type-R stickers/badges. people call them posers or ricers. this is the exact same thing here. is there a civic Type-R? yes, but not in the US. if you drop a 16c5, put on a Type-R lip/rims/paint ti still wont make the car a REAL civic Type-R. i think it gives off the wrong impression by putting Sti badges on a wrx. it implies more that you have an actual Sti, not just Sti parts on a wrx. of course only automotive enthusist would know the difference by looking at the car. oh and Sti DOES NOT = Mugen.

your thinking hondata for honda. but Sti is a company that is working in conjunction with Subaru. they are not a branch that is a division of the company itself. Honda=hondata, Nismo=Nissan, Toyota=TRD (turd, lol).

honda = Mugen (not hondata)

Hondata is an American company started in America

Mugen was started by Mr. Honda's son....get your facts straight turd, lol

regardless that the owners are related, Mugen has no affiliation with Honda as far as production vehicles go. read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mugen-Honda ohand the trud was for TRD. hahahaha

Chances are the people saying yes didn't have to put "STi" on their car........it was already there.

I would say it's not wrong. Since I have one and the only reason why I don't think it's wrong is because I have a vf34, pinks, tmic that is also found on an STI. With that said, my sti badge came with the grill so there is nothing I can do about it. But if it didn't come with it, I wouldn't put one on.

i said yes only for the fact that there are a very select few individuals who buy a wrx and put sti everything everywhere so people think its an sti... not just because its the subaru in house tuner. i.e. a guy i know has every sti badge on his car with the wing, interior, seats, stickers,etc.... but because he wants people to think its an sti...

i say its okay if its a very limited amount of sti badging...for the parts made by STi

Sti is a tuner. NOT a car. so why not? if i put usdm parts on a sti does it mean i have to take off my sti badge? again Sti is NOT a car.

It's a trim level of a car. If the car you own didn't come with the sTI trim level, then badging the car as such is.... well, you get the idea.

At this point wouldn't it have been cheaper for him to just buy the STi to begin with? Considering the cost of Subie parts, I'm sure that buying the WRX and then converting it with all the goodies wound up costing him more in the long run...
