Redesigning a legend? More like disgracing it...

Though I may be too hasty with my words, perhaps the sti will be in sedan form? And look 1/2 decent....one could only hope.

I agree with Angelus897, the Lancer Evo X looks like it could eat the Impreza 08 up and use that odd antenna on top of the Impreza as a toothpick afterwards.
Considering that the next Impreza will be available hatchback only (U.S. exception) globally.... the next STi will most likely be in hatchback form.... only North America will recieve the Impreza Sedan (SOURCE: Motor Trend Magazine, May 2007)

The Evo X will be a nice car, but I still prefer Subaru over Mitsu****bi.... and besides the Evo X will be creeping towards the $40k mark (if not exceeds it) when it comes out....$40k for a Mitsu****bi (ither the value of the US Dollar is dropping or this car is a little too expensive for me)...nah chill....Subaru Boxer engine for life mon!!!

If the case is that the US is the only place to receive a STi in Sedan form, then that's really a world wide collector's car.

I didn't know that the sti is going to be in sedan form...must have missed that. I 100% agree with you that the boxer engine kicks other engines ***'s. I brag all the time to my friends about my subi, even if its inferior to theirs haha.

But wow, thanks for the info about the sti sedan, im happy now that I don't have to go get an evo X haha.

I must have worded it wrong... i meant that the next STi will most likely be in Hatchback form because the Impreza line is only available as a hatchback form only Globally (Impreza will be in Hatchback and Sedan form in North America)....so unless Subaru decides to build two (2) STi in two different body styles (STi Sedan in North America, STi Hatchback globally), chances are, The next STi will only be in Hatchback form (STi Hatchback globally including North America)....

Just for what's it worth. I was at a stop light today and a transport truck had a load of 08 Lancer GTS's on it. I followed the truck to a rest stop a block away and 6 Lancers were chained down on the top. They were not EVo's but they were identical to the pics we have all seen of the EVO X. They looked really nice actually but i couldn't get over how large of a car it was. They all had a HUGE *** on them. I guess we will have to wait a little longer to see what Subaru does.

Thumbs down Bad Design

ok. Is it a Mazda, Chrysler, or a souped up Prius?! Congrats to the Subaru Designer for f!@## things up again! You shouldn't have to let a car "grow" on you...it should be love at first sight!

The rear of it looks like a B9 with a diffuser. Must say that I am pretty dissapointed.

What the HELL was Subaru thinking?

The design of the WRX gets uglier with every change they make. They should never have messed with the original 2002 version - that was a fierce looking rally-car both inside and out with the bug-eyes, momo emblem on the steering wheel, great seats, etc.

But this latest version is just flat out awkward looking. Did they hire the design team from Chrysler?

There is a sedan coming as well, so not just a hatchback. Here's Edmunds take on it after seeing it at the NY Auto Show:

"This new hatchback design replaces the wagon model in the Impreza lineup. The U.S. market will get a sedan, too, but it doesn't look any better."
