New Member with a question

First I would like to say hello to everyone... and now for my question(s).
... I'm interested in the Sub Impreza, my brother has a MY01 RS which I love driving (when he lets me). I've test driven a MY03 WRX. The only thing that bothers me about the WRX is the round Headlights, I know the 04 is coming out sometime, but i'm not too crazy about the body style. Through all of my 'research' I still can't find anything to push me one way or the other concerning the two cars.... do I sell my truck outright and purchase an older RS, or trade up and get the WRX (even with the rounder headlights).... any and all comments are welcome.. Thanks in advance.

consider what you really want in the car, how much you want to pay for the car, and then how much you want to pay for aftermarket parts. i love the 2dr '99-01 RS. nice tall wing, sexy lines, and classic japanese "style" headlights. however the wrx is much performance based right off the showroom floor. 227 hp vs about 130. i drove an 01 4dr rs that had rear sway bar, sti springs, kyb adjustables, big intake, header, cat back., and a sweet Borla muffler. not the most modified car, but with those alone the absolutely ripped. it was soo much fun to drive. also worked on, and drove an 02 wrx w/ vishnu stage 0. (up pipe, piggyback ecu, colder plugs, underdrive pulley.) but the only thing i liked more was the added power. find a nice RS, drive it. find a WRX and drive it on the same road as the RS. give thema fare comparison. if you want the extra power, and don't mind waiting until around 3000 rpm to get it all, go WRX. otherwise an rs is a great car. either way rear sway bar makes a huuuge difference. these cars (all subs for that matter) have serious understeer.

have you seen the 04 models........i think they are gonna look something like this or maybe they might stick to the bug eyes for another year then this well be launched. the silver one is the us spec. i personally want the my01 down model. i've always loved the looks on that model. and besides even if it's not turbo...i still gots the low-end torque.....

I saw those pics earlier when I was browsing the site prior to joining... that price is a little high on my budget. as to mods I would consider.. suspension, and if they come out with a supercharger that I like later on.. possibly, not positive.

how well do you guys like the subi? everytime i try to borrow my brothers, he won't let me drive haha. It is definitely smaller than my current ride, but the interior is larger (since i'm driving an extended cab truck)

THe bugeyes will be gone in '04...and will replaced by surplus RSX headlight assemblies as seen in the pictures above.

Bug Headlights

I wasnt too crazy about the headlights on my WRX either...so I purchased something called "eyelids" and you just put them on the top of your lights. It makes them look a whole lot better, and not so bug-eyed. You can get them in the color of your car.
