NICE. I considered doing car sales when I nearly lost my job (damn layoffs) a couple months ago. I don't know where I would have ended up though. I probably would have worked with Subarus but I was considering a local Nissan dealership.

And before you rip someone a new hole, at least go through the trouble to spell correctly.
Sales.

It is so funny when I walk into the dealership as a customer and they are all over me. Telling me to do this or that, telling me what I want, telling me the documentation for a special deal is not available until when you sign for the car.
It is so funny when these "sales" people try to gain control of the interaction, they are so overly aggressive.
Remember to ask the customer questions (besides what they want to pay on a monthly basis). Especially about what they are looking for in a car.
Use the information you gather to help you sell the car. Use what they tell you for your presentation why the car could be the one for them.
This helps reduce what we call the contrarian effect. If you try to sell someone anything without learning about them as a customer it makes them defensive. The customer feels you are just thinking of yourself or your commission. When you ask questions it seems you are looking for the best fit for the customer.
I wish you the best, I hope you get the job.
p.s. Don't get frustrated or dissappointed when a "sure thing sale" falls through. People are finicky. Sales is a numbers and skills game.

I'd like to add that you should'nt be discouraged to let someone walk out the door. Just don't make them walk out pissed off. If they are still shopping, let them do that, make your case for your product and how it will suit their needs and let them go. If you're polite, helpful, articulate and educated about the product they will remember that and chances are really good that they will come back. And even if they don't, you can at least get a good referral.
Oh- don't ever say "what's it going to take to put you behind the wheel today?" or " you gonna buy a car today or what?"
I have walked out of more dealerships without saying a word when I get that kind of crap!
