Och, I feel for ya man. I was out of work for 3 months a few year back. I might be hiring someone in Sacto in the future, but not for a while. Wish I could be more help.
Perhaps you could try to get some seasonal work to help out till ya find something better. Or you could try to get a telecom labor job, might involve joining IBEW though if ya have somehting against unions.

I hear ya, I've been out of work since late September (software engineering). Unfortunately it's going to take a long time for the job market to pickup, I'm guessing about a year or even longer.
