Seen R32 & R34 GTR, Z33 300ZX police cruisers while I lived there....the 300ZX almost on a personal level...fortunately I was able to duck alongside of a JDM version 18 wheeler and able to avoid the speed trap.

I learnt the lesson that day that if the "Fast Lane" is empty....there must be a reason for it....

I think they have STI police cruisers in Canada. There was a thread about it awhile back.

Oh, a good portion of those cars are formerly impounds.....

Confiscated from arrests involving street racing. The police take the cars, have them repainted, and outfitted as interceptors to use.

Police Skylines (R34, R32, and the G35 models), NSXs, and RX-7s huh? Is that why I never here about high speed chases in Japan?

Damn sweeeeet. If one of these police cruisers came up behind me in the middle of a canyon run, I'd make them "earn" the impound. I'm sorry, but seeing cops in cars like these gives me the temptation to play "catch me if you can".
