There could be a chance that this is true. Have you ever been to Hawaii? Police drive civilian vehicles. You see everything from S/C'd 5.0's to Explorers. Every year at the HI raceway park they have a "race a cop" day. Off duty police come out with thier supped up rides and rip up the drag strip. They lay down some pretty impressive numders. Pretty tough to run from a po po who lays down mid 10's.
