Insurance Rates
Hello all I like to start off by saying hello to everyone I am 17 and a avid mechanic. I am not new to this site i was here when this site was created I have been reserching here and watching all of you guys talk and barely got up the nerve to register and write
Well my story is like this I am getting a new /slightly used car in the near future (october) I have my heart set on the WRX and RSX
Mom and Pops say both are good and can get either one no problem. I wanted information on how much you guys pay on insurance. Becuase I will be paying insurance on the car. How much do you guys pay? Should i get the WRX and pay a maybe probably high insurance rate since the car is turbo and insurance conpanies just jake up the price on turbo sport cars? Or get the RSX and save up to put a cybernation turbo kit that will run a 12.7 quarter mile time (impersive yes! dont belive me check out www.cybernation.com ) what do you guys think? they decided to buy me the car as a gift since i do so well in autos and have a scholarship to go to UTI and I am a EXELENT welder.
I would much aperciate feedback
And guys no negative feedback if you aint got nothing to say dont say it at all we are all adults here people i hate it to see some guy say somthing and everyone flames on him.
Thanks

I'm 22, under my dad's insurance. We both have clean records no wrecks, speeding tickets..etc. I pay $1200 a year. If I was NOT under him and had my own insurance I would be paying $2000+ a year easily.

RSX is still a sport car by some insurance companies. also installing a turbo will definanlty void your warrenty if you get the RSX.
if your parents are willing to keep the car under their insurance and you pay them back i say get the WRX. it shouldn't be more than $1500-$2000 a year. then again i don't know your parent's driving history or location, which will both affect your rates. i've seen rates as high as $3000 for 6 months but that was a bad driving record.
