I might get flamed for this.....

I was wondering if anyone else expierences this. I try to look up some videos on youtube put my conclusions were vague.

When I shift from one gear to another I get an RPM jump? I don't think my shifting sequence is out of synch but I could be wrong. Is it due to the turbo still kinda boosting when the clutch is in or does the BOV take care of that instantly.

I am not trying to power shift or even shift hard. This is during daily driving when I try not to go past 3k RPM. I also don't try to get to 3k as fast as possible.

Anyone expierence this also?

Hey Leon, How are ya? The only reason you would have a jump in throttle is because you are depressing the clutch before fully releasing the throttle. You should be shifting at a higher RPM anyhow. 3k is pretty low.

Hey man. I am bored in NM. I miss California. I heard something about your car not working. What happened?

Anyways back to the subject. I figured it would be but it seems that I have to let it off gas, wait, then press the clutch. It feels so unnatural. Maybe I just suck at driving. lol

There shouldn't be a who lot of waiting, the stock flywheel does have quite a bit of inertia wrapped into it. Try shifting later maybe 4k. A total lift of the throttle for casual driving isn't uncommon. You can also learn to modulate the throttle better so you achieve the proper decel on upsift with minimal lag. Rev matching is you friend. See as how you rarely even get into boost it may not help you as much. You may or may not suck at driving. At least you ask questions and try to get better.

Depending on what kind of car you have, I was always under the impression it was the drive-by-wire that caused rev spikes.

Don't worry Leon you are old school. You still have a throttle cable.
