How do you keep the engine clean??
I drive a 2000 Outback sports wagon, and i was wondering is it safe to spray engine cleaner and hosed it down with low pressure water? How do you guys keep the engine so clean all the time? Mine's very filthy and dusty.

I just hose it off whenever I wash my car. (once a week) If the engine is cold and you use low pressure you shouldn't have any problems. My engine is clean but not "showcar" clean. Sometimes I spray simple green in the engine then hose it off though.

Pretty much the same thing....rinse...spray with laundry degreaser...rinse. I do use some aluminum foil to wrap the alternator/throttle position sensor and some other electrical stuff and do not use HIGH pressure around any electrical things.
I do this 1-2 times per year and so far my 01 looks pretty much like NEW!
