Sorry to sound like a newbie, but in the userCP it doesnt give me an option to select an avatar... what gives?

 

Avatars aren't available to every member, only Moderators and VIP Members. There are various promotions floating around to get a VIP membership if you keep your eyes open.

A few days ago, Imprezer posted a thread titled "10 first Legacy Owners to Reply to this thread..." where he gave the first 10 Legacy Owners who responded an Avatar and VIP membership. He has also sometimes asked for help with the site, where the reward is a VIP membership. You just need to keep your eyes open for stuff like that.

 

Submit 20 replies in the reviews sections and then email Alex, thats how I got mine.

 

^I was one of the first to do that. Mine was the original 100 x 100 avatar. Then i became a mod and they noticed it and made me reduce the size
