Then it gets better when the idiot that wrecked it while going (enter insane MPH here) MPH around a corner and flips his car who knows how many times says that their NEXT STi they are getting a larger turbo and more power!

IMO it really depends on the person, I'm not going to lie and say I payed for 100% of my car, and 100% of repairs, however, I did pay for more than half of my car, and I do pay for most repairs (once in awhile I'm short on cash). If someone is really an enthusiast they will appreciate what they've been given and treat it with the respect it deserves. I know there are people that are given things and treat them like crap, but that's not true across the board. Just my $.02
Who do you end up marrying? the girl who pops her gum and holds your hand on your way out of the club upon knowing you only 60 seconds.... or the woman who makes asking her out a challenge... just an analogy...
But I respect your opinion, and youre abosultely right its in no way true 100% all the time... thanks for the reply

sti are still cool but i need more fuel economy and something that my dad wouldn't scream road noise, since he drives a camry I guess i will get an sti some day when i can afford it my self, but right now the TC is great
Hey gsx, I think the best descision is to buy an impreza rs and later swap the motor of your choice when your ready. I am sort of in the same situation you are in; I've been driving for more than 6 months and I realized so many different things about car dynamics its crazy. right now I am driving my dads minivan to work and school and stuff, but even in a minivan theres so much to learn that a minivan is more than enough for me. its crazy how much I am learning about weight balancing and things like that and getting better at pedal manipulation day by day. My parents could afford to buy me a car but i decided that theres more value in building your own car with your own money so what I am deciding to do is to soon buy a 93 impreza L awd and as time goes by build it to the level I am(engine swaps, etc.). If i had enough money saved I would buy a new rs and learn it first and take it to auto-x and such where you will realize that a rs is more than enough at the school a new driver is at. thats probably the best thing you can do for yourself.
ps. I am 17 and I have Indian parents too =)
