Getting close to 1000 miles...!! Now what?

im a bit confused, what is your point? do u mean that u should get mobil 1 into your motor as soon as possible and break in period is 1000 miles??

I am now at 1049 miles!! w00t w00t.
I took a picture while driving and hit 1000 even. Then I waited 29 more miles to go to 5k rpm, but then I stopped because I got scared of the noise the engine made.. It was all high pitched and I felt like this can't be good... Now I drive the car to about 4.5k rpms SOMETIMES, maybe twice the entire day I drive... other than that, it's all at the 3k 3.5k rpm mark again...
I just don't want to F my engine up.. I might go above 4k rpm again once I get an exhaust and it sounds nice and throaty, but other than that I guess there isn't a point?

You guys worry too much. Changing the oil after the first 1000 probably isn't necessary, but it won't hurt it by any means. Don't worry, the engine is designed to rev. If you're affraid to take it past 3.5k, then what is the point of having a turbo that spools around 3k?

Good point. I guess I am still not used to all the noises this car makes.. I have only driven my parents cars.. Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Dodge Grand Caravan...needless to say when I hear the engine and it gets all high pitched.. it just goes through my head is "this can't be good" "this can't be good" or when I stall... same thing aplies that I tell myself..lol
I know I would definatlly rev it or go higher with an exhaust..
Does anyone know is it possible to pass emissions with a turbo back exhaust? That would be the only way I would want to go to get the most performance as far as exhaust goes..
