$400 of free gas. now $1000 dollars gift card? scam?
okay. so last Tuesday, my nice summer nap was interrupted by a fone call with an area code of (678). i asked them where they are located, and they said Georgia. i Googled it and they weren't lying. Atlanta, Georgia.
in the fone call, the dude told me i was picked in a raffle or some type of lottery from all the visa, mastercard, _(and some other card)_ users. and i had won 400 dollars worth of Gas. which will be given to me every month for 16 months. 25 dollars in value. they said they'll also add some magazines which i could care less about. and they read this long list of crap i had to listen to, in order to participate
then Today, i was driving with my Pastor around SF in his STi, and received another call from a (352) area coded number and said i had won from a raffle of visa, mastercard, and someother i forgot again.... but this time it was a 1000 dollar gift card to some selected websites.
they'd send me the stuff in the mail. the only thing they Asked was my age. but they knew my address and such.
i kno this isnt normal. i think im being scammed. anyone get these calls?

i wouldnt worry. some website that you put your cell number on sold your info. as long as you dont give them anymore info you will be cool.
but more importantly......
your Pastor drives an STi? thats just awesome.

In fairness to the CC companies they do offer a lot of random drawings and things. Ever see those commercials from MC that say every purchase over a certain period qualifies you for a drawing? Someone has to win those.

a pastor with an STI. how awesome is that??
call your CC company and ask them what's up, maybe see if they have promotions like this or if they are selling your address/cell phone number. it always helps to be informed as possible with this stuff.
