Fumoto valve installation...

I'm installing a Fumoto valve during my next oil change... Do I need to use the crush washer with the Fumoto? Anyone have any trouble with leaking?

Thanks!

search around...

the only trouble that I have read about, with a valve is that the threads go up into the oil pan...so some of them may need to be shaved, so that ALL of the oil will come out of the pan. Otherwise, there is a little bit that won't come out from the bottom-most part of the pan.

Check www.scoobymods.com for some other info. And I do not believe that you need a crush washer with the valve. Just make sure there are no leaks when you attach it.

Later, hope it helped.

You may or may not want to use a crush washer with the fiber washer supplied. I found depending on the car and where you want the lever to end up facing you'd have to play with which and how many washers to use. Also, I did a test where I drained all the oil out with the valve then removed it to see how much was left. Hardly any came out, what 10 ml or so? I still notched my threads but I don't think it's a big deal really.
