I have 1996 Impreza Outback Sport with a tape player and radio combo that won't turn on. Nothing works not even the clock. It also has a factory CD player unit below the tape/radio which does not work either. However, it will make the eject noise when the eject button is pushed. What should I do? Has anyone come across a similar problem?

easiest thing to do is check the fuses

next up is pullt he radio and see if the harness is getting juice you would use a multi meter

 

The radio started working again this afternoon and the clock still had the right time, so I'm guessing it didn't lose power. I hope it keeps working.

The clock and radio fuses are both good.
