I was wasting time on ebay, and came across this:

It's probably a 2" long 3/8" ID nipple. What it most likely is, is a throttle body bypass for the coolant. Coolant flows through (around sort of) the throttle body to prevent icing on cold days. It will warm up the incoming air on hot days though. Search TB mod and I'm sure you'll come up with something.
