I am a n00b.

If what you're saying is true, I appreciate the fact that the Subaru "community" is n00b friendly vs. others.

If you honestly want more technical info, goto www.scoobymods.com or ask around without this elitist pretense and I'm sure you'll get answers.

But somehow this reeks of troll.

The WRX has only been around a couple of years in the US. So we all have to start learning all the different things that can be done to our cars.
The Honda movement has been strong for over ten years and the the rotory even longer. So alot of Knowledge is available.
IF you have a specific question i.e. how to swap in a STI trans start a thread, I'm sure you will get an answer.
So please drop this elitest attitude if you didn't think that this forum was what you were looking for you should have just moved on instead of complaing.

P.S. At one time you were a nOOb and would have had to know how to change your dif fluid to.

P.P.S. If you are such a good mechanic why have you had to rebuild your rotory 3 times this year alone ?

Is the WRX Community THAT YOUNG that they have to post about their SILENCER MOD?!?!?!
There is a lot of attitude there, we are very n00b friendly, to those who dont come in insulting our forum and acting like their so high above us. So we have a post to remove the silencer and change differential fluid, GOOD! thats helpful to many people. Just because it doesnt pertian to you doesnt give you the right to be all elitest. So if you wanna learn a ton about subies, most of the guys (and girls) here are really knowledgeable, stick around and be polite.

Jspecracer7, theres something wrong with you. In your first post you expect us to be so stupid that we won't realize its possible to have a 93 wrx? We do have some brainpower, so i think we can figure out you live in Japan, where there were obviously wrxs made then, before we call you on it and say you're a liar. After all, subarus are japanese. Now, about your second post, we do have technical questions like that posted here. Have you looked in the technical forums thoroughly? Why should we have a seperate forum for noobs? They're people too. The idea of a seperate forum for people who are new to something is rediculous to me. I would explain myself more but that would be getting off topic. One last thing, the whole point of you starting this thread seems to be to show us that it is possible to characterize car enthusiasts by the car they drive. Really, that is the dumbest thing I've heard. There are rich asses here, there are dumb newbs(me), and there are also (believe it or not!) people who know more about cars than you here. So to me, right now, you look like a complete fool. Now if you're going to stay here be nice, otherwise leave.

AWNS, great post. and now its my turn

At first I was going to **** on us for being jerks to you, but then I re-read your post and im pissed. I truely respect your goal for your WRX, your knowlede in mechanics (more than mine), and just your over all knowledge in cars. I also agree about all your comments even the ones about our club. But you are missing something: We are a NEW club! Yeah, the old I-club has been around for quite a while but the WRX is still a new car for us. Previously we only had the EJ25 and the EJ22 offered for years. 2002 was the first year that we got the EJ20 turbo motor, and though there are some experts, we have not had the time to become as "cultured" as you think the other fourms are. We ALL are noobs here! Even thouse with rediculously large post counts (IS2Scooby ) are still noobs! Almost all of us had never worked with the EJ20 powerplant before a little less than 2 years ago! True some of us had turboed EJ25's, done JDM swaps, so some had a head start but almost ALL of us are new. This is why you will find posts like how remove a silencer or W/E. SO WHAT if they dont know how to use one! They are on their never ending quest to car knowledge like you and I.

These things are the lower things on the list of things that (once I re-read) pissed me off. The biggest thing is your doubt of overall car knowledge of ours. WE REBUILD OUR ENGINES TOO! I have been inside and out and studied the WRX engine extensively on multiple cars, as have many people on this board. I assisted in building a friend's WRX up to close to 375hp, which in our world kicks ***.

I-club can help people get the info they need, if you just go with the flow. So what, we have some nOOb's but more power to them, and we try to help them out in everyway possible. Questions like your own also are answered, had you posted it with out doubting us as you did. If you have a question post it in the correct technical fourm and it WILL be answered. Have a nice Day
Cheers
-Jeff

***Let this fourm be somewhat of a reminder for people that THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO GET A QUESTION ANSWERED!***

<---(ends rant )

There are alot of members here who get into Subarus and dont know anything about cars at first. Knowing something about cars is not a requirement of joining this forum. If you think it should be, start your own forum.
