Dealership removing bolts help?

I went to drop off m'car at the dealership today to get m'60k checkup..... so anyways, I've been trying to install my borla headers. I've completely stripped one of the cat/header bolts so I've been chopping at it with a crappy dremel for the last few days.

So now what it looks like is a completely stripped bolt, half way cut into.... I asked the clerk guy (at the dealership) if he can cut it off for me... after all, it is just 'one' bolt. but he said that he doesn't 'know' if the mechanic will do it. I told the clerk my motives about installing this and that I have no warranty (so they don't need to worry about me voiding one).

Is there something the dealership has against cutting off bolts?

...or do they want to be held responsible for any problems that might happen for doing it.
This is the more likely reason. You might tell them that you won't hold them responsible for any damage (or injuries) arising from cutting the bolt off but that doesn't waive your right to sue the crap out of the tech and the dealership should something go wrong.

Look at the example of the lady at the McDonald's drive-through that got a settlement for being burned by hot coffee! While I sympathize with the way the lady was treated by McDonald's Corporation, common sense tells us to be careful when handling very hot liquids while driving a motor vehicle.

Got my car back today from the dealership and they took it off!

I dunno if they charged me... but they probably did... in any case:

I finally put in my borla gen IV headers and love the sound and smoother throttle response.

Thanks Wayne Subaru!
