Couple of questions new to me 04 Sti

Hello, I am new here and I might be purchasing an 04 Sti tomorrow. But I have some questions first off the car has 13000 miles on it and it was meticulously cared for amsoil oil, broken in correctly, iridium plugs and the car is flawless. The only questions I have are about the whiteline steering rack bushings and the reflash on the stock ecu. The car pulls to either side unless you correct it, I was wondering if that is normal with the whiteline steering rack bushings. And my second question is, will the reflash on the stock ecu void the warranty on the car? will the dealership be able to detect that it has been flashed/modified? And also can the reflash cause premature ware on the engine? The owner said that it was properly tuned on a dyno for the perfect conditions, those are the only two mods that are done to the vehicle and it is alot quicker that the 2005 Sti that i test drove. I appreciate the help thanks

No, that's not caused by the Whiteline steering rack bushings. You might have the alignment checked. Has the car ever been in an accident?

really, it has never been in a wreck if it has they did a better job than i have ever seen in my life and i have a couple friends one that ownes a High end collision repair shop. but what do you think about the flash on the ecu do you think it will void warenty? will it Prematurely ware the engine? what do the whiteline bushings feel like or do for the car after they are installed? thanks again for the help.

The old adage is that you pay to play. I think you will like your "new" STi. I would fist make sure of all of the deatils of the reflash and i would recomend an alignment.

The person I am buying the car off of said that the steering is normal for the whiteline steering rack bushings he said that a friend had the same thing done and it performed the same way? Huh thanks

I would disagree with that statement. The bushings aren't supposed to make the car pull. They make the steering feel more precise, but they dont' throw it off. I would check the alignment, and if the alignment is ok, then maybe there is a problem with the tires. If not either, the car may have been wrecked.

I have the whiteline steering rack bushings on my WRX and have no pulling issues. My friend has them on his '04 STi and also has no pull.

ya, i called a rep from global performance parts in Holland Michigan whiteline steering rack bushings distributor and he said that there is something wrong (they were not designed to do that). something seems fishy. thanks
