clutch switch & nostart problem 96 legacy
My mother has a 96 subaru legacy wagon. The problem is a switch that works with the clutch pedal depressed. The switch is not making contact very well. Supposedly this is a very expensive task and I would like to fix it for her as inexpensivly as possible. I own 2 BMW's, an 86 535i & an 85 325e. I do quite a bit of work on them so I don't mind the work.
What is the part that I need to replace? Is ther a substitute part that would work?
Problem is press the clutch to start & all you get is a click. Take your foot off the clutch and press down several times it used to stat now the switch is worn out. The only way to start the car is to park it on a hill/incline & cost & pop the clutch.
TIA
