I had just gotten my 7500 mile warrenty done before going on a 1500 mile round trip. everything went fine and had a good time with my car till the very last mile. When i hit the final off ramp and downshifted it felt like my clutch had gum stuck to the back side of my clutch. its still like that this morning and i checked to make sure i didnt have something obstucting it. it shifts fine, but every time i push the clutch in, when releasing it feels like if you were walking on a movie theater floor that had lots of soda on the floor. it comes right back out but just that little bit drives me insane.
i called to make an appointment to get it fixed and its Monday, but they cant get my car in till NEXT monday. i told him the problem and he said he doesnt think its hurting anything but he wont promise that. what do you guys think? both in what it is and if its covered and if im hurting anything by driving it a full 7 days before it get looked it. there is another dealership but its farther away and i havent been there yet.
2002 WRX sedan. my car is stock when it comes to engine.
if it is not covered, i believe their is a 3rd party warrenty that can cover it if i were to wait even longer to get it fixed i guess
any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've seen this problem reported a couple times, it's usually resolved by replacing the clutch cylinders (sometimes master, sometimes slave, sometimes both). It doesn't seem like it would cause a big problem if you kept using it for a week, but you'll definitely want it fixed.

I think the Clutch disk is not covered. Same concept as the brakes, they are designed to wear so they won't replace it for free. But the actuating mechanisms should be covered. Cables, master and slave cylinders, and probably even the pressure plate. With that few miles on it you should have no trouble getting it fixed under warrenty.
