Hey everyone. I have a question regarding my 2000 RS. I've noticed today (it started yesterday night actually i believe) that about half the time i press in the clutch pedal there is somewhat loud creaking/popping sounds, i can also feel it a bit while i'm pressing the pedal in. It only happens when i press on the pedal, when i release it is all quiet and smooth. The popping increases in intensity and frequency when i press the pedal really slow. It doesn't happen all the time, but i'm starting to get concerned. It kinda sounds like the spring on the pedal is cracking or rubbing against something, it is hard to describe. I am wondering if any of you had a similar experiance or seen this problem before. Thanx

 

I don't think the sound comes from the actual transmission, just from the pedal area. The tranny works perfectly without a hitch. If i listen to it carefully i can hear (and feel somewhat) that it comes from the area just beyond the phisical pedal.

 

You may just have dirt in the clutch bearings. I would just take it to the dealer and see if they can regrease it for you(if that's really what the problem is).
