My check engine light came on the other day and I took it (2002 WRX) in. They said that I have a miss fire and they had to send my ECU to Cali to get it reporgramed and send back. Has anyone else had this problem yet or am I the first lucky one.

 

Heh, we wish you were the only one, I'll tell you what happened, you drove somewhere, went in came out soon after and started your car while it was still hot and bing, you got the code.
The ECU reflash is the only way to fix it.
So you and a couple of thousand others including me have gotten that code
The bummer is it takes like 3 days to get the ECU back, good luck.
Where in Arlington do you live? I lived off of Cooper for a while back in 90, went to school in SW Fort Worth. Now I live in Portland Oregon.

My car had been in the garage over night. It came on first thing in the morning. Is there anything that i can do to keep it from happening again? Turbo timer or something becuse they got me in a booty *** cavialer for a rental.

Not really CEL reflash is only way to make sure. It comes and goes, sometimes for months it won't show. I need to get mine flashed too.
