Wow that was a good article. WTF are they thinking with these stupid laws. We have a right to go where we want to go on public roads.

Guess what....all of your civil rights are going to slowly erode over the next few years and the Constitution is going to be more and more ignored by the government and their pig lackeys and terrible things will come to pass.....mark my words.

cool, an optimist!

Anyway - while the law does suck, it's just another example of how a couple of people ruin things for everyone - it's more or less just like the street racing thing - now, take off fast from a light and you are almost guaranteed to get pulled over in some areas if you are seen... pretty sad.

eh, it will calm down as F&F and 2F2F and Torque slowly fade from the memory of pop culture....i think it will eventually become like one of those laws you read about, you know things like its illegal to carry ice cream in your pocket in tuscon arizona, or keep your donkey in your bathtub in new york. outmoded but still there.

Do you really think the average cop wants to (or even can!) keep track of all the cars passing by them???

Besides that, it's gonna be hard to make the charge stick, it's just the cop's word against the driver's - no empirical evidence. (Unless the cop keeps a checklist of every single fricken car that passes him going either way and if he doesn't track every car, he's discriminating)

Not to mention it's a bloody stupid law!

Just some two-bit town's local ordennance, probably put on the books by a bunch of old farts who don't want the "young people today" having any fun.

Bonkers.

the law started in San Jose, California because while people were in traffic they would get bottles thrown at them and alot of people looking for work and or selling drugs would just go back and forth up the street and cause problems and traffic. that is who to blame for this law.

ding ding ding - you just hit the nail on the head. This law, and many others, simply give law enforcement carte blanche ability to legally pull over any vehicle they choose. So...you have tinted windows and the cop doesn't like tinted windows - you get pulled over. You have after market exhaust - you guessed it, pulled over. You're a young black person driving an expensive car, yep, pulled over.
