Subaru FZX

Does anyone know anything about the Subaru FZX. I saw one for sale. I did a search (copernic, google, yahoo) and couldn't find any information.

FZX.... I'm almost tempted to say it was an SVX and the guy placed the classified ad over a really bad cellphone connection.

Did it say anything else about the car?

lol not sure if there ever was a Subaru FZX although i did a search too and came across this page that show two pics of FZX's one is a car (maybe thats what you are thinking of) that looks like an ol school bug (which might be the Subaru FZX if thats what you are talking bout) and this bike, which is a model made by Yamaha.....check it out if you want lol...all the pages i checked are either in japanese or german and i cant read either

Oh yeah, forgot about that car. One of the first Subaru ever brought over here i think.

The add says "1992 Subaru FZX, loaded, 250 HP V6, leather interior, 82K miles, $4,800. It looks noting like the picture above. It looks like a 2 door sports coupe.

I'm considering buying an older car that I don't have to worry about destroying when I mod it.

It's gotta be the SVX. Say them both and tell me how similar they sound. Did they still make the SVX in 92?

Yeah, there should be a 92 SVX. I think the last production year was 93 or 94.

I saw a picture of the SVX. It looks like the one in the add. I can't tell if the car in the add has those ducked upped windows.

SVX

Yeah, the SVX was auto only, flat six. Not sure about the HP though.

The windows were a standard feature. It has only a lower portion that goes down. Looks funky, but eliminates wind buffeting with open windows. Too many drive up ATM jokes though.

Really? I didn't know the SVX survived that long. Cool. I still want to buy an old one, one of these days.

SVX has 230hp

I have a 92 SVX as well as a 03 WRX.

Bought my SVX new on 12/31/1992 with 30 miles on her. Drove her right off the showroom floor. She now has 202,000 miles.

A great car, a great Subaru...

Like Janq said, the SVX ran from 1992 to 1997. It definitely did not come in a V6, only an H6 that made 230hp.

I've had five Subaru's dating back to '86 and thus far by far the best overall Subaru ever IMHO was the SVX.

I rate the STi second with the WRX and XT6 tied for a close third.
I'm talking USDM only of course as Spec-C's and 22B's have never set foot in a US dealership for sale.

- Janq currently own a '04 STi and '93 Legacy L+ 4EAT Sedan...with a '06 Legacy/Forester STi on the horizon :banana:
