Buying a 2003 WRX, how can I tell if it has clutch shudder problem?
I'm thinking about getting a new 2003 WRX, is there a way I can tell if it will have the clutch shudder problem, by the VIN number, or by the production date?

The TSB for the clutch fix lists the VIN #'s after which the new parts were installed at the factory.

I think I'll just get a 2004 anyway, it's not that much more and it seems than the 04's got some new features over the 03's anyway.

Why can't I delete this post?

Not every clutch will have the problem.
Drive the car and you'll know soon enough.

There's a slim chance there's still an '03 on a dealer lot with the old clutch.
