Clutch Shudder Problem
Noticed that my car has this problem '02 WRX. I know Santa Cruz is supposed to be THE dealer to go to around here; has anyone had good experience with Ron Price or Carlsen or Albany around here re: the clutch shudder fix?
My car just started to do it too... only I don't want to have to take of the DP, exhaust, pulley, etc. to get it fixed
though it only happens to me when it's cold in the morning.
anyone ever have the TSB 03-51-02 done to there car with their mods still on? anyone do it at Diablo? I'm thinking about doing that now.
Here's a link to the TSB

i took my car in to santa cruz for clutch shudder with dp, exhaust, uppipe... but that was a long time ago. i hear they are being a bit less lenient these days
Great... my brother got all of his services done at diablo with the mods on.
My only problem is that I can't be without a car, but I can't get a loaner because I'm not 25. I also hear that Livermore isn't such a great place to go to either. >

Hey guys. To recieve help from SOA on any sort of warranty concern the techs at the dealership first of all have to VERIFY THE CONCERN. You can't just walk into dealership and say ,"Hey, I don't modify my car give me a new clutch!". And as for Santa Cruz and their issues, They are a smog station and by law CAN NOT put illegal components back onto a car. There is no problem taking them off, but going on is a problem. Just remeber to be polite and if you feel that someone at a specific dealership is trying to hose you go to a different dealership. Take care.

i took the tsd to diablo and they won't do anything unless they recreate the shudder. i left it overnight and they tried first thing in the morning (it was summer, so possibly not cool enough) with no luck. i will go again soon since the weather is changing. as for livermore, they say the same thing. just be sure you pick a cold night to leave it there for your best chance.

no mods at all unless you want to count the axle back; but subaru doesn't count it as a true "modification." let me know if you take it into livermore or diablo to see how it goes.

This determines whether or not you pay for your flywheel or not
