Clutch Shudder Problem

Noticed that my car has this problem '02 WRX. I know Santa Cruz is supposed to be THE dealer to go to around here; has anyone had good experience with Ron Price or Carlsen or Albany around here re: the clutch shudder fix?

ron price = NO. The other are good

Plus if you have mods take them off before you go to the dealer

My car just started to do it too... only I don't want to have to take of the DP, exhaust, pulley, etc. to get it fixed though it only happens to me when it's cold in the morning.

anyone ever have the TSB 03-51-02 done to there car with their mods still on? anyone do it at Diablo? I'm thinking about doing that now.

Here's a link to the TSB

Diablo is bad news if you have mods, they actually take pictures of your mods, and then send the pix to SOA!

Great... my brother got all of his services done at diablo with the mods on.

My only problem is that I can't be without a car, but I can't get a loaner because I'm not 25. I also hear that Livermore isn't such a great place to go to either. >

i took the tsd to diablo and they won't do anything unless they recreate the shudder. i left it overnight and they tried first thing in the morning (it was summer, so possibly not cool enough) with no luck. i will go again soon since the weather is changing. as for livermore, they say the same thing. just be sure you pick a cold night to leave it there for your best chance.

did you have any mods on the car when you took it there? did they say anything about them in regards to whether or not they would perfom the tsb? I think the nights have been cold enough now that it will happen on my car everytime... this weekend I didn't drive my car until 1:30pm one day and I still had a little bit while the car was cold and in 1st gear even though it was fairly warm outside.

no mods at all unless you want to count the axle back; but subaru doesn't count it as a true "modification." let me know if you take it into livermore or diablo to see how it goes.

I got my shudder fixed at Carlsen. The clutch was under warranty but I had to buy a new flywheel.

How many miles do you have?

This determines whether or not you pay for your flywheel or not

Yep. I had coilovers, endlinks, 20mm swaybar, and 17's at that time. No engine mods though.
