Millions of people have done this exact thing before. We all had great success with heat+adhesive remover. Your car did not get some super special space glue, it got the same crappy annoying to remove glue that the rest of them got.

Use more goo gone. Spend more time. Put in more effort. It will come off.

denatured alcohol will break down the foam quickly...then use Bestine (aka rubber cement solvent/thinner) to remove the adhesive backing/residue.

Can be bought at Michael's Arts & Crafts stores.

Bestine is much safer on clear coats and paint than Goo-gone & Goof Off type adhesive removers. Bestine works better than any other adhesive remover I used and way safer on plastics (no crazing/hazing), paper, metal, wood, etc
