I like the fast and furious look. Im going for all stickers and possibly a garage made and installed wing on my wagon so big it will get all local television stations plus xm radio. That wing makes my car fast and pimp and those sitckers add at least 10hp to the wheels =P
Seriously though....I like the sleeper look.

I never understood why anyone would think ANY exterior mods are needed to go 12's? Hell, if you do it right, you can be in the 11's and still have it look stock under the hood, let alone exterior. Don't get it.... The sleeper look is not a look- it is functional- the ricer look is a "look"
. none of the "add ons" will make the car any faster in any way, shape or form.
Aside from that, I *only* keep my cars stock appearing aside from the occassional wheels. I can't stand exterior crap, it is tacky
. It is even more fun when the car looks 100% stock inside and out (even under the hood!) and runs mid 11's (my old DSM)

I tried to go for the sleeper look but i couldnt help but do some exterior mods . . . (painted sideskirts, cleared headlights, new signal bulbs) plus it'll be kinda hard to keep they noise level down if you plan on running 12s

Painted sideskirts are acceptable
. It is the people who think air splitters, huge wings and ghey front bumpers make it a race car that are unacceptable
. not that some aren't tastefully done and nice looking- but make a fast car- no
.
noise doesn't really give it away either- too many ricers with loud exhausts run 15's for an exhaust to hint at a fast import lol..

As far as that goes, all I care about is keeping the cops away. By that I mean, keep my car legal on the outside, run all the plates, legal tint, dual tip exhaust, working lights, etc.

I like sleepers, but I also like a bit of lowering (~1.5" not slammed) and the right wheels (17" or so) . . . but those kind of mods really wouldn't give anything away either . . .
well originally the sleeper was to make a car look semi stock, dropped and maybe some rims... I mean thats what I did with my turbo civic...well until it got stolen.... But the "sleeper look" is almost the wrong look to go by if you want people to think your slow. How many times have you gone to the runs and lined up against a car that look stock and thought "damn that car has got to be fast" because I know thats happened to me in the past cause If you really want the "sleeper look" buy an outragous wing and crazy weird fast and furious body kit. Then people will think your slow....hahah
Oh yeah one other thing...Some kits are functional like my chargespeed kit for example on my 04 suby it was designed to create more downforce at the same time enhancing the body lines of my suby....So yeah in the end what truly is the "sleeper look"?

at first i will keep it stock until i pay off the engine mods, which will be a while, but sleeper look is good enough.

problem with complete stock look is that stock tires are weak. 16 inch wheels with better tires are probably the best thing for drag racing.
