Advices on purchasing WRX?
I currently own a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, the car is great and I have no problem with the car. But I always wanted either RWD or AWD from the beginning. I traded my 2002 Toyota Corolla for the Spec V because I wanted more power, back in March of this year. I did get ***-raped on the trade-in but at that time I was really stupid and I just wanted the car regardless (I was upside-down for like $3325).
So I financed at 1.9% APR for 60 months of total $21325 (the Spec V was $18,000; $500 over invoice) (they don't have any type of deal at the time, no cash-back or special financing), not a bad deal at all I think. I've paid off for about $2,250 so far so leaves me about $20,100 and some change on the car right now.
(I did look at the WRX at first before I went to Nissan dealership. But the Subaru dealership was been an *** told me I need like 7-9G of down payment with my corolla trade-in in order to get the WRX, so I said '**** him' and walked off. I posted a thread back in march about it too... I was so damn mad.)
This time I am going to get the car I want, WRX, and I am going to be smart about it. My question is... when would be a good time to purchase the 2004 WRX? Time really isn't an issue for me right now... I can wait till early of next year. I don't really want to get it now because purchasing a 2004 in 2003 putting miles on it (I drive a LOT on highway) will lower the value of the car if I decided to trade-in 3-4 years down the road. Plus this gives me sometime to save up about 3-5Gs for down payment, to release the pain on the trade-in... AND pay more principle off on my Spec V.
I was going to spend 4G on turbo kit for my Spec V, but what is the point? I could get the WRX, a new car, AWD, a more fun car to drive, keep my factory warranty, but just slight less hp. i don't really plan to do any much mod except for suspensions.
I know dealerships have crazy deals going on around the end of the year... would it be better off buy the car before the year end or right after new year?
I choose the WRX over Evo or STi is because it's more common. I don't like the attension you will be getting w/ those two... great cars but I'll be worrying about more ppl ****ing w/ my car. Not to mention the high maintainence w/ those cars. Thanks for any helps!

Car Info: 2005 WR blue WRX w/ premium package
if you don't want to pay that much, wait till the clearance. that would be around march -june of next year. i don't know what kind of prices they give around your area, but i saw this year clearances on 03's for 4-5k off of msrp. the cars were going b/w 21.5k-22.9k. those are good prices, that is why i want to buy an 04 on clearance next spring. clearances usually occur when new year models come in(hopefully). good luck.
how was the spec -v? is it fast?

my main goal is try not to loss too much money on the trade-in, price isn't really an issue to me. like most of the people out there, monthly payments & insurance would matter more to me. thanks for the tip, i might just wait till then then. i'm not in a rush, i've learned my mistakes rushing out and get a new car.
Spec V is great, i really like this car alot. treetrunk-towing torque on this car is insane... not that fast but fast enough.

If you're main concern isn't getting screwed on the trade in, then sell privately. Dealers are terrible on trade ins. Even if you play hard ball you'll get alot less money on a trade in than you would selling privately. With the internet making it easier to sell cars privately, private selling is alot simpler now.
