AC making funny noise?

AC making funny noise?
So I turn my AC on high/cold setting and I start hearing this noise that sounds like creaking metal? I turn the AC off and on and it only happens with the AC on.The car does not drive funny or do anything weird when it is making the noise.I could also compare the noise to pulling a nail out of some really hard wood?
Has anyone else experienced this with their AC? My car only has 50,000mi and has had all its regular services.I guess I might have to have it inspected,but any input would be great.Thanks
