2.5 rs and gsx
I'm in search for a new car and I thought my mind was pretty much set on one .( a 98 2.5 rs) , but the other day my friend got a turbo awd eclipse gsx. this car is stock and destroys mustangs and for a stock car has unbelievably good handling and acceleration, not to mention it is already turbocharged, but i dont want to abandon the idea of getting an rs because i love subarus and i had planned to buy an rs and turbo charge it but for the same price as a stock rs i could have a car thats already turbocharged, what im trying to say is is it worth buying the rs and turbocharging it will it pull harder and perform better than this stock eclipse because if not whats the point im just tryin to decide for less money and hassle how i can get more speed and performance. any ideas or criticisms good or bad appreciated im really confused

i love both cars
but reliability appears to be a problem with the gsx
a friend of mine had one, and on his way into the dealership to get a service done, the driveshafts all, in some weird form of bad luck, snapped. he wasnt even moving when it happened. just bam. no more movement.

i was in the same situation. i wanted an RS really badly, but i wanted more power out-a the box. i found a 95 talon tsi (2wd ) and got that. it only had 50k on it. with 17's and sticky tires they hook up pretty good. and handle awesome. and with an exhaust (2.5" catless) and intake, they roar, and gain tons of power. but now i am in the market for a 95'ish impreza L 2.2 for a rally car.... but i do love my talon. subys have the class, dsm's have the power and the right price.
crankwalk is the only real problem to worry about. thankfully, i've been lucky.
