I heard that list keeps getting shorter because people had their names on a few different lists, so yo might move up, or down...whatever which way you want to call it.
Ohhhh, white is SO sweet!

My car was amongst that shipment, Silver/silver, and I'll be picking it up next Saturday.

Many of the dealers I have talked with mention that their lines are either dwindling due to folks not having the means to procure the car or these same folks are asking to be put back in the rotation as they attempt to save up cash and/or sell their current vehicles. Myself and several sales folk think a good amount of people are using 'color' as an excuse to stay on dealer lists as buyers/wishers continue to skip meals toward saving up cash.
I know of two dealers with STi's in stock unsold due to _everyone_ on their list saying the color wasn't right (White & Silver). What are the odds of that?!
The bottom line is that the STi (and the EVO) largely appeals to a certain type of buyer that seems to be lacking a certain amount of funding. I'm sure dealers will be dealing on the STi and inventory will increase as the months progress. Just look at what's happening with the EVO.
BTW, I still have only seen three EVO's on the street since its March release, and I live in the DC/Metro area which is rife with late model cars. In fact, I have seen way more EVO's on the lots of local dealers (which are supposedly "SOLD") than I have on the street/highway. Now you have to wonder why is that when its supposedly a 'hot' car and everyone wants one & is supposedly getting one (?).
I guess they're all at the track.

Great Britain is England
New England refers to Northeastern USA.
Lots of places in the New World have names that start with 'New'
Lots of them refer to places in England like New York, New Brunswick, New Haven, New London, New Hampshire, etc which is probably why the area is called New England. Maybe they were settled by people from those places in England.

yeah that was me
I saw your car there!!! Silver is great!!! They got 4 cars this month, 2 white/silver and 2 silver/silver. I had originally asked for any color but white but I did come very close to buying it. If it was white with gold I probably would have bought it. I saw a java black on a turbo forester. That is a great color also.

I was supposed to pick-up my car (only 2 miles reported on the odo!) this past weekend by the F&I dept. dropped the ball on communicating with my third party lender and they couldn't get a check out to them in time.
So I'll be flying up this coming Saturday instead.
I can't wait!!!
How long have you been on the VB list?

VB List
I have been on the list since late Jan Early Feb. I have thought about getting a used S4 or even the Volvo S60R/V70 R but once I saw the STI I am going to go for it.
The only thing that concerns me is what I'm going to use for winter wheels. The 17 look like they are sculpted around the brake caliper. I don't want to go to 18 for winter but I'm sure not many 17's will fit. We'll see.
Sorry to hear financing dropped the ball. They actually called me about 3 weeks ago and I gave them all my info so I should be almost set to go. You should be able to get a great interest rate nowadays.
Good luck, let us know all about it when you get it!

Having owned a lot of Subaru's through the past 15 years it was a no brainer for me to go back and the STi best fits all my needs & wants. The winter wheels thing in my case is not a big deal as I have an SUV and a Legacy AWD for winter use. At first I was thinking of buying a relatively cheap set of skinny rims & tires for winter (snow) but from the looks of cost I'd be better served driving my truck or Legacy which both already have winter rims & tires in my basement. Plus the Legacy gets around in snow better than most trucks and its paid for so snow damage & so forth is of no concern.
As for VB, they were playing phone tag with my third party leasing agent and didn't get the leasing company the information they needed to write up the deal in time for delivery. Thus things were put off to the following week. I just got off the phone with VB and everything now looks to be moving smoothly & on schedule.
I'm not buying the car rather I'm leasing it. My lease money factor value is equivalent to a 4.632% APR over 39 months and a 50% residual with $0 cap cost reduction. All the info toward my specific cases was posted two weeks ago in my primer on leasing thread.
I'll definitely make a post once I'm back home. I have to drive it eight hours and 500 miles back to Northern VA. Alone, and with no radio....which should be fun. : |

Janq-
Trust me I know that drive well. I went to school in ROttenchester and live in CT.
I hear what you are saying as far as people passing on the cars or holding out. I was in the 20's on VB's original list and they called to ask about color requirments. I am holding out for White/Gold which apparently not many dealers are getting. So I wait. But I am in no rush either, especially after hearing about all these ocmplains people are having. Then Saab announces their 9-2 based on the WRX platform.
Anyways, congrats on your purchase! The New Your Thruway can be fun to drive, but at the end of the month their are a lot of Staties out on the roads. I got nailed once and I was only doing 85!

Janq - tried to send you a PM but it's full, so heres my message:
"Congrats on your purchase!
I knwo you did a LOT of research on lease options and I was curious as to what you are putting down and how much you are paying a month?
The reason I ask is because me getting an STi is dependant on a moderate lease price because I can write it all off as a business expense. But like 500 a month would be out of my league.
Let me knwo if you get a minute, thanks!
