As much as I really really really really really want one of the first STi's on american soil, I am going to wait. There are two reasons for this.

1. More money , cheaper payment

2. I want to wait for all the fuss to die down and see how things go. I'd also like to see what kind of common mods show up in a year for the new 2.5 platform (expecting typical exhaust, boost, and ecu tuning). I 'd also like to see if subaru makes any changes in the next 12 months after bringing the Sti over for the first time in US history.


Anyway, anyone that owns one of these is going to spark envy in me! But I gotta wait...

 

I agree with you and let all the rest of the world have the first year STi.

 

I thought about doing the same, but I already have the next six months to save. As far as the possiblity of problems within the platform: if the 2005 is seriously better, trade up.
