I think it sounds great,
but I'm not a big car stereo guy. I just needed something to play CD's. I can say that the Upgraded OEM Speakers sound way better than the normal ones that came in my WRX. Also I couldn't beat the price. My whole sound system cost around $425. So if you dont need a "big name" car stereo or have some OEM stuff around the house, it's worth installing in your STi.

I installed an Alpine into the STI and it went in great. But I couldn't figure out why there was no sound. Then I find out there's no speakers 0 speakers = 0 sound. hmmm. I swear the dealership told me they had speakers. Anyway, I installed the Polk Audio momo component speakers in the doors. Had to buy spacers and do a little fab work to get them to fit but they work great. The 1" tweets went in perfect. watch the wiring if you're interested in mounting aftermarket speakers without a wiring harness because the speaker wires reverse colors once the get through the doors and a totally different color goes into the harness on the head unit.
