STi ride compared to.....
I have been racing around in my severely stiff Civic (now for sale http://www.temalidesign.com/forsale/Honda.html) for 4 years and recently my fiance and I bought a new Ford Focus ZX3 (pzev 150hp)..this has some good pickup, but the ride is great, aggressively valved and handles well for a "stock car". Now my dealer has sold all their STI's and not getting any in for a while...SO not test drives
but the question is...and how it may seem stupid...but...
How is the ride quality compared to another brand new sporty car. Am I still going to say.. this thing is comfortable, reletively quiet, and absorbs bumps etc..

Probably not. It is not designed to be comfortable, quiet, or absorb bumps well. It is a race car for the street. I think it rides pretty well, better than the EVO. The tires are sorta loud and there is not much insulation in the car. You just need to go in with the minset that this is a race car and it is very fast. Don't worry about the rest.
Coming from driving a Ford Focus ZX3 or even a Civic, this is a completely different animal. I've driven the ZX3 and was none too impressed. Though I can't say how the STi is having never driven one, I'm sure you're going to be surprised. And by surprised, I mean you're going to have a heart attack. In fact, bring an extra pair of pants...

For me, the STi is very comfortable. It is all depends on what you are used to, everyone have a different standard of comfort. For me, the ride on the STi is compliant, the engine is very quiet, very little wind noise. The only thing that is noisy are the tires. A few people told me my STi is quieter inside then the luxurious G35 Coupe.
For comparison, the STi ride softer then my stock suspension R34 GTR.
If you are coming from a modified Civic with a very stiff suspension, I would guess the STi will be comfortable for you.

i did a 3 hour road trip in my STi. Only thing that i really didnt like was the lack of music! The cars suspension feels really aggressively tuned yet it is still awesome as a daily driver. I have a 20 min compute to and from school everyday and i do alot of driving on weekends. The STi has never gotten uncomfortable. Yes you do feel bumps more but its definitly not horrible
